Kampala Praise Fest to be launched by legendary gospel artiste Don Moen

Jan 16, 2019

With over 30 years of singing worship songs, Don Moen has inspired the spiritual lives of many people in the world including Uganda.

Celebrated US gospel artist Don Moen is not new to Uganda. He was here five years ago and will be returning next month for the much-anticipated launch of the Kampala Praise Fest.

Set to be an annual event, the Kampala Praise Fest will usher Ugandans into a new year in Christ and who is better than Don Moen to headline the very first edition.

With over 30 years of singing worship songs, Don Moen has inspired the spiritual lives of many people in the world including Uganda.

He remains popular for his worship hits that include God Will Make a Way, We Give You Glory, God is Good All the Time, God with Us, God is Good, I Will Sing, Heal Me O Lord, Give Thanks, Here We Are, and Hallelujah to the Lamb, that have total global sales of over five million units.

His music is in church; on your radio or Television. But now Kampala Praise Fest presents you with the opportunity to experience your gospel music icon live at Kololo Airstrip and sing your favourite worship song with him.

The legendary Limit-X singer Isaac Rucci who is also the Project Manager RG consults, a production house that is bringing Don Moen back to Uganda, says the experience will be worthwhile.

Though Don Moen is coming in February, he will still lead Ugandans mostly Pentecostal faithful in appreciating God for the year 2018 and thanking God for 2019.

He is coming with his entourage of three people. Performing alongside him will be top Ugandan Gospel artists such as Levixone, Exodus, Sandra Suubi, KPF Voice, DJ Twonjex, Brian Lubega, Pastor Wilson Bugembe, and Watoto choir.

For Levixone, Don Moen is a man who communicates straight to God through his music. "Don Moen is a real worshipper," he says.

He believes Kampala Praise Fest will not leave revelers the same but rather changed spiritually because they will not all sing but preach God's gospel.

It will be a whole mix of gospel music genres when the Kampala Praise Fest is launched on February 8, 2019, at the Kololo Airstrip.

Control AD a three-piece band will be bringing the Hip Hop(e) music with an E  in the end to Kampala Praise Fest.

Exodus, on the other hand, says Kampala Praise Fest will be a platform to show gospel music is a force to reckon with it.

"It is an opportunity for people to come and see the power of gospel music. I promise to bring energy. It's gonna be lit," he promised.

Besides Don Moen, Rucci was all praise for the local gospel artists saying the best of Uganda's musicians have a gospel background. Saying the Kampala Praise Fest will be a platform to make them stand out.

Sandra Suubi an award-winning gospel artist says they have put in a lot of work and for Brian Lubega it will be a delight to be on stage with top Ugandan gospel artist and the renowned Don Meon.

So bring your dancing shoe on regardless of the faith you belong too and be ushered into the New Year in the presence of God by the legendary Don Moen and your top Ugandan gospel artist.
