Tibarindeka, 65, died on Tuesday night after undergoing unsuccessful operation at Nsambya Hospital.

The cruel death has shortened the life of head teacher of St. Thereza girls school, Namilyango, Sr. Hilda Tibarindeka.

Tibarindeka, 65, died on Tuesday night after undergoing an unsuccessful operation at Nsambya Hospital. Parents, friends and relatives thronged the hospital after hearing the sad news.

According the deputy head teacher, Richard Tibadhubye, the deceased booked for an operation last year after her physician advised her to get an emergency surgery.

"She booked that particular date and she was driven by her drive up to the hospital, where she was admitted and later operated upon. But she lost the battle in the process May God Rest her In Peace," he said.

Born in Rubanda Parish, Kabale district, Sr. Hilda Tibarindeka celebrated Silver Jubilee in the sisterhood under the Little Sisters of St. Francis Congregation. She previously worked in Mubende, Kigulu Girls School, Iganga, St. Peters' Primary School, Nsambya

She has been the head teacher of the school since 2011 to date. She replaced Sr. Rosalia Babirye. Namilyango Girls' School was started in 1949 by the Catholic Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa. Currently, the school managed by the Little Sisters of St. Francis.

Lawrence Mayanja says: " I am still in shock as a Catholic, I believe in death. It's a transit to heaven, albeit no one wishes a friend to die. On a sad note, the news of the sudden loss of the Headmistress St. Theresa Namiryango Girls was shocking. Sr. Hilda was a Sister, a mother, a mentor, a "Friend in need".  I am just short of words to describe a personality God so brought to earth. Till we meet again, May your soul rest in peace.

Joan Nakibuuka, an old girl of the school described Sr. Hilda as generous, God-fearing person who was always there to help all kinds of people.

"She loved us very much like her daughters. We would join her in her office. She would leave her seat for you to sit as young girl. We shall miss you Sr. Hilda Rest in Peace our dear mother," she said.

Richard Tibadhubye said the deceased will be buried on Friday at 2:00pm at Nkokonjeru Covent burial grounds. He said that the vigil will be held at Namilyango Catholic Church and later the body transferred to Nkokonjeru.
