A passenger plane has skidded off the runway as it landed at Entebbe International Airport halting flights for several hours.

This morning during landing, Ethiopian Airlines flight No ET 338, a Boeing 737-800 from Addis Ababa to Entebbe skidded off the runway by a few metres according to statement by the Ethiopian Airlines.

There were no injuries following the incident and all passengers and the crew were safely deplaned.

Although there were reports that the runway has been badly spoilt and no plane is able to take off or land, the Civil Aviation Manager for Public Affairs, Vianney Luggya, said the runway is not spoilt.
