Lighting the Christmas tree at Miracle Centre

The lighting of a Christmas tree symbolises Christ being the light of the world.

CHRISTMAS DAY

KAMPALA - After lighting up the Christmas tree, Pastor Robert Kayanja of Miracle Centre Cathedral Rubaga prayed for the nation.

He also prayed for peace and development in 2019.

In his message of the night, Kayanja urged people to clean up their hearts as they prepared for the birth of Jesus Christ, and asked them to let God's glory be manifested in all they do.

The lighting of a Christmas tree symbolises Christ being the light of the world and everyone should be ready for Christ to lighten their hearts, he said.

Kayanja asked the people not to be terrified when Jesus is born in their clean hearts and quoted Luke 2:10 (But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you the good news that will cause great joy for all the people.")

The pastor also thanked God for raising the young generation in Uganda and prayed that He looks on to them and change their thinking in the coming year so that they can play a positive role in the development of Uganda.

Kayanja and his wife Jessica later cut a Christmas cake and served the children of Proclaim Choir before joining them in singing Christmas carols.
