KAMPALA - The trial of Makerere University Researcher Dr. Stellah Nyanzi, that was supposed to start on Monday, over charges of Cyber Harassment and Offensive Communication against the President and his late Mother, Esteri Kokundeka, has been adjourned to 19th, December due the absence of the trial Magistrate.
Buganda road court Presiding Magistrate, Robert Mukanza, has adjourned the matter saying that his colleague, Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu, who is handling the case is not around.
Prosecution alleges that Dr. Stella Nyanzi between 16th and 17th, September 2018, she posted offensive messages on her Facebook page with intent of defaming and disrupting the peace and privacy of President Yoweri Museveni.
Nyanzi was arrested at Wandegeya Police Station, where she had gone to seek permission to demonstrate over Makerere University for failure to re-instate her as a Researcher, following a two year suspension due to allegations of misconduct.
On her way back to Luzira, Nyanzi who was visited by Dr. Kizza Besigye at the Court boldly vowed also to spread the Facebook gospel to inmates.
