John Mugyenzi could not hide his joy after winning the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Seniors Golf Tournament that ended at Kitante On Sunday.

"Three years ago, I was the gross winner, but I'm the overall now and I'm very happy. I thank all those who came to give me a challenge and saw how good I was," Mugyenzi boasted.
"I won because I didn't know when to give up. The event was in General Ivan Koreta's hands until I started putting well; the game only swang in my favour on the 17th and 18th holes; I would like to thank CAA and the seniors' society for organising such a wonderful event and to thank my playing partners Zaramba, Difonzo and Koreta for giving me good company. I was just focused and was not ambitious but just concentrated on my strength and just kept my ball on the fairway," Mugyenzi stated.
Edrae Kagombe topped the ladies category after returning 144 nett and for her efforts will also fly Kenya Airways to Nairobi just like 36-holes gross winner Onyango Matata who won a return ticket to Mombasa.

The tournament was earlier officially teed off by CAA deputy managing director Fred Bamwesigye who said it was part of their CSR to give back to their customers who are frequent fliers and that golf was on the activities organized to celebrate the International Aviation Week.
Minister of Works Monica Ntege presided over the two-day annual event in the company of sponsors' representatives from CAA, RwandAir, Pepsi, Kenya Airways and Uganda Breweries.
