Morris Ongwech and Jovia Tugume returned 38 and 36 stable ford points respectively to win the Entebbe Rotary Club fundraising golf tournament played at Entebbe Club on Saturday.
The two golfers consequently won themselves fully paid flights to Europe and Bwindi respectively courtesy of Brussels Airlines and Aero Link, some of the sponsors of the one-day charity event that was aimed at raising funds to increase access for heart surgery to needy children in Uganda.
Let's Go Travel comprising of Geoffrey Orach (38pts), Emmanuel Moko (38pts), Johnson Nuwamanya (37pts) and Bridget Basiima (37pts) emerged as the top team and will have their top two players; Orach and Moko also flying the Emirates to Dubai as a prize for their efforts.
Paul Rukundo and Ssuubi Kiwanuka who were the top performers for team Kampala Casino, the runners-up will also fly to Dubai using Fly Dubai, the other co-sponsors
Rotary president George Bush Ochieng said the over sh10m raised on Saturday will be topped up by Rotary International to help in the surgeries of up to ten children. The fundraiser has been held for the past three years.
