The Women's Sixes Challenge is a big bash of sorts. It is hard to recall a boring encounter and as such this women's season was fulfilling enough after this particular contest.

Dramatic is surely the least to say about the one day meet (Saturday) courtesy of Afri Power Engineering. What a way for Olila to save their season with a victory over KICC in the final at the Lugogo oval.

But the manner in which they won the contests, paints a picture of a very odd final. Interestingly, the last game which pushed past daytime had to settle for a bowl-out as a tie breaker!

With five players bowling to the stumps, youngster Proscovia Alako took the crucial wicket to defeat KICC at the death.

"This is sheer madness; the game was so intense and full of life. I think it will go down as the most memorable final in the history of the competition but in all the girls fought and delivered the title, something I'm so proud of" said Ivan Kakande, Olila coach.

Still, Kakande told New Vision that there is a huge sense of fulfilment arising from the fact that they have been consistently winning a trophy in all the seasons they have been in the top flight. Olila had earlier defeated Damani in one of the semi-finals.

The win as well justifies Olila's hard work this season having featured in the T20 final, only to lose against Aziz Damani.

In the Jazz Safari National Women's League they still aggressively fought in a two horse race which Damani eventually won by one point.
