Man eats snake to avenge lost chicks

A 34-year-old man in Tororo district shocked onlookers when he decided to eat the venomous cobra snake in avenges for swallowing his chicks and celebrate his birthday.

Kenneth Odiom, a transporter and a resident of Kwapa central village on Tuesday took up the mantle to dig out the giant serpent from an anthill from where it always enters after swallowing his chicks.

Angered by the continuous reduction of his poultry stock, Odiom smoked out the cobra, chopped off its head, then skinned after inserting in boiling water. He then chopped it into pieces to deep fry.

Odiom who was also celebrating his birthday then enjoyed the deep fried serpent with yet to be identified person in accompaniment of a glass of juice and beer.

The action that looked like a movie as it was captured in video, which was later released to social media, has received a lot of reaction from the public of how daring Odiom could risk enjoying the venomous snake.

The action has remained a puzzle to the public while some people argue that Odiom could have learnt of the tricks of how to capture, prepare and enjoy the snake without having any side effects from the Congolese nationals since he transports commodities to Democratic Republic of Congo where snakes are wildly enjoyed as a delicacy.
