KAMPALA - The Uganda Christian University (UCU) Volleyball Club team captain Moses Odeke has vowed to lead his team to victory as they play their first ever league final against defending champions Nemostars Vc on Wednesday at Lugogo.
Odeke believes his side will win despite meeting the most experienced players and a side that has experienced indoor volleyball compared to their side.
"We have been preparing for this since last year when we made our first appearance at the playoffs and now that we have made it to the final, I believe the results will justify our hard work though Nemostars aren't an easy side, they know how to win but we are also good to go for the challenge," said Odeke.
Nemostars head coach Andrew Okapis also believes his team can win the finals if they correct their errors.
"We can only win if we work upon our mistakes because any team that makes it to the final has always prepared for the fight, so UCU is not easy but we have to focus on reducing on the mistakes and win the game," Okapis vowed.
UCU who had an unbeaten run during the regular season beat Ndejje to qualify for the final while Nemostars eliminated Sport-S VC at the semifinal.
Meanwhile, Nkumba University Volleyball Club (NUVC) are focused to retain the title as they meet Ndejje in the women's final.
