KAMPALA - Uganda's female kickboxing champion Patricia Apolot has vowed to spread an impressive females kickboxing legacy to universities.

Apolot made the promise recently at Nkumba University after she was crowned beauty pageants during the Mr. and Miss Nkumba University beauty contest.

“Some ladies fear to be musicular but have talent, it’s never too late especially for any girl at campus to join kickboxing if at all they have passion,” Apolot said.

“I will not promise heaven on earth but to those ladies who are interested in kickboxing musicular ,” she added.

At the age of 27, she is the reigning Ugandan female kick boxing champion, a title she has held for three consecutive years.

Apolot has won several other home, continental, and intercontinental fights which makes her the holder of the largest number of belts and gold medals in the sport in Uganda and Africa at large.

Like she had earlier promised at the beginning of this year to build up a gym in her home area in Ngora, Apolot who started kickboxing at an amateur level in 2009 after traversing other games like football, athletics and taekwondo has lived to her dream and now owns a gym that she opened up in November.

Her passion was stimulated in 2012 upon invitation by the Uganda Kick Boxing Federation to participate as a curtain-raiser for the Moses Golola and the late Andras Nagi.
