Sedakasi wins Entebbe Chairman’s Cup golf tournament

Playing off handicap 23, Sedakasi beat over 100 participants to the top prize to register his first win of the season in the process.

 
 
Christopher Sedakasi returned 41 stable ford points to win the 10th edition of the Chairman’s Cup at Entebbe Club on Saturday.
 
Playing off handicap 23, Sedakasi beat over 100 participants to the top prize to register his first win of the season in the process.
 
He will consequently enjoy three days and two nights at one of Marasa Africa properties at Paraa, Chobe or Mweya Safari lodges as a reward for his win.
 
The same will be enjoyed by Morris Ongwech, Johnson Niwamanya and Fred Kasumba who topped the men groups; A-C while Bridget Basiima who won the ladies category will enjoy lunch for two at Jinja Sailing Club just like Robert Ejiku who suffered most on the course, managing only 9 points.
 
Afrisafe chairman Kwame Ejalu awarded the overall winners at the 19th hole where co-sponsors cba, Marasa Africa and Uganda Breweries were represented by Managing Director Anthony Ndegwa,General Manager Corporate Affairs  Julian Burton and Head of Whisky Portfolio Annette Nakiyaga.
 
Earlier, professional golfer Fred Wanzala’s three-under-par 68 gross had won him the biggest share of sh7m in the professionals’ competition.
 
The $88,000 (sh325m) Jeep Cherokee and a Fiat fullback Pick-Up worth 42,600 euros (sh184m) for a Hole-in-One prize went unclaimed as no golfer managed the feat.
