Uganda darts players head to Nairobi for the Kenya Open tournament on Saturday and Sunday with a desire to replicate their performances in the Uganda Open when they won top individual honours.

Harriet Akot of Club 291 Lira and Eddy Baguma of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) beat the Kenyan and Tanzania opponents respectively to win individual gold medals.

David Tabaro, the Uganda Darts Federation secretary said he is optimistic his team will deliver despite having dent of Baguma not traveling.

"We are taking the same strength we had at home here to Kenya and we expect better results because the players have been training," Tabaro said.

He added that he has quality players who are both in the national team that will compete at individual level and team level.

"I think players such as Patrick Ochieng, Job Odoi of silver Springs, Isaac Tasi, Augustus Ndigendawa, James Otim of Police, David Tabaro of Leisuretec, Robert Okalanyi and Ronald Kalete will give the men's team glory," Tabaro said.

He also named Harriet Akot, Maria Namuganyi, Dina Amoding, Joyce Anite, and Gloria Omonya as some of the ladies on the national team that will carry the Uganda flag.
