Expect the best of DJ Shiru at the first XFM street bash

Oct 20, 2018

DJ Shiru went to become one of the top DJs in Uganda with his debut big event being at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards in 2006.

The biggest street party in Kampala this year goes down today (Saturday) and you can only expect the best, promises Vision Group's DJ Shiru or you can call him the 256 spin doctor - ever compared but never equaled.

Shiru Kiberu better known as DJ Shiru started his career at the tender age of 16. He had a dream of doing a science course at university, he was studying Physics, Chemistry and Math (PCM) but that was not possible because there was no school fees for him.

Just like any young boy out of school, he started to follow around his elder brother, the legendary DJ Rota in Kampala and that propelled him into Deejaying.

DJ Shiru went to become one of the top DJs in Uganda with his debut big event being at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards in 2006.

He is one of the most popular Ugandan DJs and he is equally popular in East Africa and among the African community in the UK.

Together with DJ Rota, DJ Shiru was one of the first Disc Jockeys to play music for international artists in Uganda.

He has hosted a number of international artistes in Uganda including R. Kelly, Sean Kingston, Sean Paul, UB40, Demarco, Konshens, Elephant Man, Beenie Man, Busy Signal, Kevin Lyttle, Akon and Wyclef Jean.

DJ Shiru has excelled as a producer, remixer, radio DJ, businessman, and ambassador for dance music.

A versatile DJ who works with any genre of music, DJ Shiru delivers a daily music mix on Vision Group's Urban TV Monday-Friday 5-10pm and Bukedde TV Saturday at Midnight.

He has won many awards in the country and beyond for his Deejaying skills, he remains immensely talented but DJ Shiru still yearns for more success.

"I am not there yet, I will be releasing my second studio album titled born love on November 17, featuring Kenyan artist Redsan, it follows the first album from nothing to something," he discloses.

"It is going to be wickedly massive, I can't seem to find the right words to say but I promise it will be something to remember," DJ shiru says.
