Dixon Okello in Zurich for FIFA security training

The three day workshop that runs from October 17 to 19 will be held at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland

Security guru Dixon Okello left the country on Monday for a FIFA Safety and Security Officers training and assessment workshop.

The three day workshop that runs from October 17 to 19 will be held at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland

"We are glad that Ugandans are being recognised and considered for such opportunities that improve the organisation of our events. We believe that Okello will bring back the knowledge acquired from Zurich to pass on to the local security team at the football events in Uganda," stated FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein.

Okello who has been at various sporting events as a security officer including the FIFA World Cup (2010 South Africa), Olympic Games in London (2012), is one of the most experienced security expert in the country.

Recently, he was in charge of CAF Champions League semi-final first leg between Al-Ahly of Egypt and Algeria's ES Sétif as the security officer. Al- Ahly won the game 2-0.
