Even during death, the influence of Hon. Peter Nyombi (Uganda's former Attorney General) has continued to prevail.
This was evidenced when his brother Henry Mayega, the deputy head of mission at the Embassy of Uganda in Beijing got saved during his funeral service at Saint Paul's Cathedral, Namirembe on Wednesday.

How it happened
After listening to the testimony about the deep Christian faith and witness of his deceased brother, which was being delivered by Canon Dr John Senyonyi (also his sibling), Mayega requested for the microphone and pronounced: "In honour of my brother, mentor, friend and best man, from today I commit my life to Jesus."
Senyonyi, who seemingly never expected Mayega to relinquish the power and pleasures of this world almost collapsed at hearing his brother's pronouncement of salvation. The highly revered preacher and academic turned around several times before composing himself.

He then started shedding tears. His siblings and in-laws with whom he was at the pulpit also cried intensely as the congregation started singing Tukutendereza Yesu, the traditional hymn of Christian salvation.
The Bishop of Mityana, who was in the company of Bishop Eridad Nsubuga of Luweero diocese and Bishop Eliphaz Maari (emeritus, Kampala diocese) then laid hands on Mayega and prayed for him.
The joy of Mayega's salvation washed away the sorrow of his brother's death, which was hovering over the gigantic Cathedral. Hon Nyombi was buried at Nakasongola on Thursday, October 11.
