The City Oilers' commanding control over Betway Power in the ongoing best-of-seven series finals opens debate about the latter's level of motivation.

The five-time defending champions were subjected to a firing meeting (like usually the norm is) after losing game one, reminding them of their obligations on the court and the resultant efforts have managed to overturn the deficit.

Conversely Betway Power have not shown the will and ability to fight back in the series and now trail 3-1 after Wednesday's 83-72 Oilers result at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium.

Betway Power recruited well in the pre-season, but at least their efforts and the score line so far place them in the second best docket.

True they may not have the better players altogether but still they are not mentally strong to counter City Oilers who are now a win away from claiming a sixth straight title.

Meanwhile, Stephen Omany stepped up with a game best 22 points and 7 rebounds as Jimmy Enabu and Co gained a huge control of the series on a chilly Wednesday night. Tonny Drileba and Ben Komakech had 18 and 13 points respectively.

Paul Odong returned a team best 21 points for Betway Power who proved not fit enough to upstage the Oilers.

With one game to decide their fate, Betway Power will seek to find the last surge of inspiration to save the series in what clearly looks a huge mountain to climb.
