Buganda celebrates 56th Independence

Kabaka's subjects from the 18 counties have gathered in masses at a function that kicked off Monday morning.

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has joined the rest of Buganda and the kingdom's well-wishers to celebrate Buganda Independence Day at an occasion held in Ntenjeru-Kisoga town council, Mukono district.

Kabaka's subjects from the 18 counties have gathered in masses at a function that kicked off Monday morning.

Kabaka was in the company of the Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, Buganda government ministers and officials from central government led by Buganda Parliamentary caucus chairperson, Johnson Muyanja Ssenyonga.

Buganda acquired independence on October 8, 1962, a day before Uganda.
