Following the signing, Japanese ambassador to Uganda Kazuaki Kameda hosted the visiting delegation from Japan led by Tateshina town Mayor Masato Yonemura to a dinner at his residence, which was also attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Education and Sports as well as another from the National Council of Sports.

Kameda said he was pleased to have received the delegation from Japan, but also pleased to have visited the high altitude center in Kapchorwa similar to the one that the Ugandan athletes will camp in in Tateshina ahead of the Olympics.

"The Memorandum of Understanding will strengthen the bilateral relationship between Uganda and Japan through sport," Kameda noted.

Tateshina Mayor Yonemura said he was impressed by the energetic and enthusiastic Ugandan people and said the cooperation between the two countries was going to be the bridge to further partnerships and exchanges between the two countries.
