Buganda will be first host of the FUFA Drum Competition final as they face West Nile over two legs, Uganda's football governing body FUFA has announced.

"Each province [Buganda and West Nile] is looking forward to writing history by emerging maiden champions because the first one is always remembered," FUFA president Moses Magogo told a press conference on Wednesday.

The first leg will be played next Sunday (September 30) at Bishop SS in Mukono.

The return leg, hosted by West Nile, will take place a week later at Green Light Stadium, Arua.

West Nile captain Vitalis Tabu cut a tone of confidence as he said his side have what it takes to win the first ever championship.

"'We have always prayed to meet Buganda at the final of FUFA Drum because they are one of the easiest teams to beat."

But Buganda province assistant captain Rajab Jooga believes that home advantage in the first leg will boost them.

"We have always started at home and registered positive results. It will be the same case at the final against West Nile," said Jooga.

Buganda and West Nile eliminated Bukedi and Busoga in the semifinals, respectively, to reach the final.
