As the count down to what is expected to be a tough ICC World Cricket League Division Three gathers speed, the sensational teenager is making a strong case for himself in the buildup.

A number of 50 overs matches explain Uganda’s prolonged stay in South Africa even after having bowed out of the CSA Africa T20 Cup in the preliminary round.

“This is definitely an invaluable boot camp for us as a team and we welcome every opportunity to play international cricket” Roger Mukasa had earlier said.

The first warm up match Monday at Pietermaritzburg turned out to be a memorable one not just for the tracvelling side but for Arinaitwe in particular when Uganda won by 6 wickets against Kwazulu Natal Inland Academy (KZNI)

In commanding fashion, the boy scored his first senior century.107 from 50 balls was indeed a classic as the Cricket Cranes successfully chased the game with 273 for the loss of 3 wickets. This was his sixth century this season.

Hamu Kayondo impressed with a half-ton of 78 runs not out from 78 balls batting at number three. Youngster Riazat Shah impressed with a half-ton of 53 from 40 balls before he was out caught.

Earlier in the first innings Josh Eerden had got the scoreboard moving with a crisp half century of 92 from 90 balls not out.
