Uganda Cranes left back Godfrey Walusimbi made his debut for South Africa giants Kaizer Chiefs over the weekend.

Walusimbi was part of Kaizer Chiefs's starting eleven that was defeated 1-0 by SuperSport United in the second leg of the MTN8 semi-final at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Bradley Grobler scored the winner for Matsatsantsa in the 58 minute to reach the MTN8 final. The two sides had earlier played to a goalless draw in the first leg.

Prior to the game, Walusimbi had admitted that he had already adapted to the team despite joining Kaizer Chiefs on Thursday.

"I have already adapted at Chiefs. It is easier to adapt in a professional environment. I look forward to working hard and contribute to the team," he stated after signing a three year deal from Kenyan side Gor Mahia.

He added," I've always known that Kaizer Chiefs is a great football club. Chiefs play for honours and that's a positive mindset that every player dreams of. Just like every footballer, I always want to move one step further in my career and I think my move to Chiefs is one such step."
