AMOLATAR - Amolatar district has received 20,300kg of maize and 11,600kg of bean seeds for the second planting season of 2018.

The seeds were handed over to the District Operations Wealth Creation (OWC) coordinator, Col. Francis Ongia.

During the hand over, Col. Ongia said that the seeds shall be distributed to the sub-counties after germination tests have been carried out.

Ongia also alerted farmers that the piglets under the same programme will also soon be distributed.

The district LCV chairperson, Simon Peter Ongom Seydu cautioned the farmers against washing and consuming the seeds.

"These seeds are not meant for cooking but rather for planting to combat famine and to improve your household income," Seydu said.

He urged the extension workers to always give correct information to farmers to avoid insufficient supply.

Seydu applauded the production officer Francis Ojok and his team for their dedicated work.
