Miss tourism: 11 girls make it to the boot camp

Out of the 11, only one contestant will be crowned miss tourism.

MBARARA - Eleven girls from districts of Ankole have made it to the miss tourism boot camp after they successfully went through the auditions over the weekend at Mbarara Information centre in Mbarara town.

These included Catherine Amutuhaire 20 from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Faith Ankunda 22 from Kyambogo University, Susan Batamba 23 from YMCA, Shivan Atwine from MUBS, Winnie Kansime 22 from MUST, Clare Asimire 22 from Buhweju, Evelyne Ahabwe from MUST, Rebecca Ainembabazi 23 from Makerere University, Rachael Musime 22 from KIU, Diana Atukwase 21 from KIU western compass and Sandrah Arinda 22 from MUST.

Out of the 11, only one contestant will be crowned miss tourism Uganda, Ankole charpter queen 2018/2019.

Ramadhan Kimbugwe, the coordinator of the event revealed after the auditions that the 11 girls will join a boot camp where they will be prepared in various aspects which will nurture them for the grand finale on September 8, 2018 at Lake View Hotel.

"We are going to take them into various destinations in Ankole region so that they can learn and explore various tourist attractions.

"They will also be through modeling classes, communication skills because we realised that some are nervous, " Kimbugwe said.
