KAMPALA - Betting company, Betway have ended their partnership with Ugandan Premier League club Onduparaka FC.
The betting firm who previously injected sh600m for the 2017/2018 season that was concluded in June did not renew their contract with the West Nile side.
“Betway would like to take this opportunity to thank Onduparaka FC for the partnership.
"The club has grown over the last two years and we are confident that they will continue to be a beacon of excellence for Ugandan soccer,” said Betway country manager Adellah Agaba.
Despite concluding their sponsorship with Onduparaka, Betway is ready to continue supporting the development of sports in the country such as Betway Power in the National Basketball League, Betway KOBS Rugby Club, Betway Senior Pool League and UPDF Boxing Club.
“One of our main prerogatives as a brand in Uganda has always been sports development,” said Agaba, “we are glad to have created the impact that we did with Onduparaka FC.
"We are confident that the club is capable of staying in the top four in the upcoming season.
"We will continue our sports development strategy and hope, in the future, to assist another sporting franchise raise themselves into the upper echelons of Ugandan sporting achievement,” Adella added.
