The party’s ongoing problems were blamed on people who joined the party without being oriented on FDC’s ideology.

ARUA MUNICIPALITY BY-ELECTION

KAMPALA - Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president, Gen. Mugisha Muntu and deputy spokesperson Paul Mwiru are set to face the party's disciplinary committee for refusing to support the FDC flagbearer in the Arua Municipality by-election.

Last week, Mwiru declared that he would support independent candidate Kassiano Wadri in the by-election, instead of the party flagbearer Bruce Musema.

FDC deputy secretary general Harold Kaija said it was very disappointing to see party members failing to support the party's flagbearer.

'Annoying and sad'

Kaija said the party's disciplinary committee, headed by J.B. Okello Okello together with the leaders committee, would take up the matter.

"Those who have gone to Arua not to support the party but to divide it, when this election is done, will face the party's disciplinary committee. It is annoying, sad and shows disunity," Kaija said.

Kaija has also attributed the party's ongoing problems to people who joined the party without being oriented on FDC's ideology.

He said because of this, the party has members who behave like leaders from the ruling National Resistance Movement, instead of working for change.
