Bishop Gakumba calls for positive journalism

KAMPALA - The Anglican Bishop of Nothern Uganda, Rt. Rev. Johnson Gakumba has commended Vision Group for practicing responsible journalism.

Gakumba said, by giving balanced news reports and feature stories, Vision Group, has made an enormous contribution to the development of the country.

"The work you do is very important. Please continue working professionally. If you want to do your trade with objectivity, peace and development will prevail.

"You should also not dwell so much on the bad news. Bring to our people good news, which will give them joy and hope. "

Bishop Gakumba was delivering his homily during Vision Group's Anglican Holy service at the company's headquarters Industrial Area, Kampala on Friday.

During the service, Bishop Gakumba received cash and clerical shirts, which the company's anglican community donated to the clergy of Northern Uganda diocese.

They were handed over to him by Geoffrey Kulubya, the Managing Editor, Regional Papers.

Bishop Gakumba later toured the premises of Vision Group. He also paid a courtesy call on the company's Editor in Chief, Barbara Kaija and the Managing Editor, Ben Opolot.
