Entries for the UMOSPOC Kabalega rally due on September 7 to 9 in Hoima have been opened at the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) offices in Lugogo with Ronald Ssebuguzi confirming his entry.

The Shell V-Power and Centenary Bank sponsored driver navigated by Leon Ssenyange in a Mitsubishi Evo10 is second in the National Rally Championship (NRC) with 290 points,15 behind leader Jas Mangat (305points).

The three time NRC champion who won the recently concluded Pearl of Africa Uganda rally is targeting victory to maintain his hope of winning the fourth NRC.

"We are preparing our car and preparing for Hoima because it will determine whether we win the fourth NRC or not," Ssebuguzi said.

Competitive stages inspected

The five competitive sections on day two of the rally have been inspected and are waiting for approval from the National Road Safety Council.

The event sponsored by Inter-Cargo, Grand Praclos Hotel Mukono, TNT Club and Kontik Hotel in Mukono is the sixth round of the NRC with the International university of East Africa (IUEA) driver Hassan Alwi being the defending champion.
