Over 290 set to graduate at UCU Mbale campus

Over 296 students will be awarded with masters and bachelor’s degrees as well as diplomas.

GRADUATION

KAMPALA - A total of 296 students are set to graduate this Friday from Uganda Christian University (UCU), Mbale Campus.

The students will be awarded with masters and bachelor's degrees as well as diplomas. 

According to a statement from the university's public relations office, 169 (57%) are female while 127 (43%) are male. Over 21 students will be awarded first class degrees (13 females and 8 males).

This will also be the second part of UCU's 19 graduation ceremony and the second in one month having graduated 1,024 students on July 6, at the Main Campus in Mukono.

Among the graduands is 70 year-old Soitta Wandyete. He will be graduating with a Master's Degree in Public Administration and Management.

Wandyetye is one of the oldest graduates in the history of the UCU Mbale University College which he joined in 2014 having completed his Bachelors in Democracy and Development Studies from Uganda Martyrs University.

The graduation ceremony will be presided over by the UCU Chancellor and Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Rev. Stanley Ntagali.

It will be preceded by a commissioning service on Thursday. The service is a formal send-off session at UCU during which graduands are prayed for before their graduation.
