Uganda's giant leap to the World Rugby Sevens stage is responsible for the way the sport has skyrocketed in terms of popularity.

This is why the 6th circuit of the Guinness National Sevens series hosted by Rhinos will not only add a new chapter to the circuit, but also serve to attract more youth to the sport.

This Saturday, Legends Rugby Ground will host the Kabaka Coronation Cup, a tournament that will be played as a commemoration of the coronotion of the Kabaka of Buganda.

This was announced during a press lauch at Legends that was attended by Prince David Wasajja of Buganda and Buganda Kingdom Sports Minister Owekitibwa Henry Ssekabembe.

The Minister believes that they identified rugby as a sport to encourage their youth to take part in because it's a sport that has afforded many opportunities to those who play it.

"We very excited that as a kingdom we have not decided to seat and relax in the exhaustion of nothingness, we are ready to join the fastest growing sport in the world, the world of rugby. We are very mindful of the opportunities within this sport especially if we are to tap so deep into the young people of this country where the King is very supportive of the young people of this country," he said.

The prince also reiterated that that the sport would encourage the youth to live healthy as they tap into those opportunities.
