Fido-Dido now temple of worship

ANOTHER CHURCH ON KAMPALA ROAD

Perched in the heart of Kampala City is House of Rest Ministry, formerly Fido-dido theatre auditorium. This newly refurbished ultra-modern imposing hall, which was tailored to suit church activities, is the resting place for thousands of born-again believers who are dedicated to find rest in God during weekly days through fellowships and prayers.

Although it has been a place of worship for more than 10 years, it was given a facelift after the founder of the ministry and senior pastor of Kasanga Miracle Centre, Pastor Isaac Kyobe Kiwewesi negotiated a five-year lease of the place. He is following the footsteps of Pastor Irene Manjeri of Bethel Healing church at Pride Theatre, who leased out the place for church purposes 

About the church auditorium- House of Rest 

Glitzy in its décor and elegance, the temple of worship was tailored for church purpose. Besides the lease remuneration, the investment of the face lift was sh300m and the outlook is worth it. 

The buildings have spaces for church offices, retail shops, but above all, the building has an extension of balcony where congregants converge.  

The beautiful site, which was once a cinema hall- Odeon Cinema, was officially opened on June 29, 2018, and the benediction service was done by Pastor Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Centre, the spiritual mentor of the founder.

In his sermon, Pastor Kayanja castigated those who challenge born-again believers for spending a lot of time in prayer and fellowships.

“This beautiful auditorium is an answer to prove to the critics that prayer bears fruits,” he said this amidst thunderous applause at the benediction of the new place. 

“We embrace a culture of excellence because the God we serve is the one who ordained excellence and God demands the same from us,” Pastor Kiwewesi said.

Inside, there is peace and serenity; the modern state of art décor and praises and worship bring all the congregants closer to God.

The daily sermons are always complemented by a powerful praise and worship. Pastor  Kiwewesi wanted to  create a service in the middle of the city Centre that deals with real issues of life and offers authentic spiritual healing to all believers and non- believers who might be hardnosed by life’s challenges and yet they would like to find rest in  the bosom of God. 

Out of conviction, he felt pursued to rename the place House of Rest.  

“I rebranded to House of Rest because early this year when God gave me the task of leasing and refurbishing the place He gave the revelation of changing the name to the House of Rest, a place where people would find rest in God,” he says. The beautiful temple of worship is, however, open to those who would wish to conduct church oriented services such as overnights and musical concepts.
