Sheila Kesime and Peace Kabasweka beat Joseph Bagabo and Paul Kaheru 2up  in the final of the Singleton Golf Challenge at Entebbe Club on Saturday to win themselves the ultimate all-expenses paid trip to the World Golf Tour Championships at the luxurious Jumeriah Golf Estates in Dubai,  November 15 -18.

The ladies pair becomes the first ladies team to reach the final and also win it in the second edition of the annual championship that is growing in leaps and bounds.

In the professionals sh15m battle, it was Herman Mutaawe who prevailed over Silver Opio, 2&1 in the four-ball-better-ball match play championship, with Ronnie Bukenya registering a similar score against Saidi Mawa to finish third.

"We did a lot of training but it was by luck that we won today. Personally I didn't have a lot of pressure like it has been in previous rounds. But the win didn't come easy our opponents were tough but somehow we managed to beat them," Kabasweka said.

"We now look forward to the experience of watching professional golfers in action, it will be awesome. We appreciate Singleton it has been wonderful and colourful and it is because of them that we have won this amazing trip," Kabasweka stated.

Her partner Kesiime said the contest was a tight and a nervy contest that required a lot of resilience.

"We hang in there and played some amazing golf; it is the good lord that has brought us this far as we saved the best for last but we didn't expect it but it was by God's grace. I lost my mental strength, my knees gave way but my physical fitness carried me through,"

"I look forward to enjoying the trip and of course shopping with the per diem that we are going to receive," Kesiime remarked.

The golfers dressed to kill at the 19th hole black tie event with the Afrigo Band entertaining them after the day's action.

Victoria Motors' Mitsubishi Pajero Sport for any golfer who manages a hole-in any of the par 3's on the course in the final round remained unclaimed.

The best dressed man and lady golfers on the course over the whole season awards went to Moses Matsiko and Peace Kabasweka while Michael Monne and Maureen Okura took the best dressed Man and Lady Awards at the 19th hole.

The pairing of the season award went to Eva Magala and Irene Nakalembe while the Singleton and most consistent player awards went to Kiryowa Kiwanuka and  Fred Kasumba respectively.
