Kabenge, Billy top Gadies and Lentlemen golf challenge

Jun 26, 2018

Kitaka settled for the Group A top prize where Peace Kabasweka and Gloria Mbaguta were first and second runners up respectively.

There was excitement when Private Sector Foundation Chairman Patric Bitature teed off the Gadies and Lentlemen Golf Tournament at Kitante on Saturday.

Not only for him, but for the golfers who had swapped roles, teeing from unfamiliar territory on the day. For Bitature hitting that small ball for the first time, provided some challenge but he promised to return and perfect the trade.

But for Katy Kabenge teeing from the men's tee was like a normal day at the office as she easily returned 32 points beating Harriet Kitaka on count-back to win the one-day tournament.

Kitaka settled for the Group A top prize where Peace Kabasweka and Gloria Mbaguta were first and second runners up respectively.

Lydia Mutesi (31pts) was the best in Group B, where Jackie Kamunyu (30pts) beat Sheila Kesiime on count-back for second place.

In Group C Grace Njeri (25pts), Soon Yon Hog (23) and Connie Mukuru (22pts) took the accolades in the ladies section organized tournament that saw some men like Arthur Kiwanuka, Michael Monne, Jackson Were and Mathias Kalule among other play in skirts.

The overall men's winner prize went to Billy Patrick whose 44 points propelled him to the top ahead of Joseph Mawejje and Michael Alunga who came one and two strokes short respectively.

Becca Mwanja's 41 points was good for third place while Chris Santosh (44pts) beat Jadu Patel on count-back in Group B where Stefan Krisch (43pts) came third.

Herbert Nsanze (44pts), Peng Zhangdian (41c/b) and Paddy Muramira (41pts) were the top player in Group C while Anton Krisch took the junior player's prize.

Monica Ntege and Junior Simba took the longest drive accolades while Wendy Angudeyo and Edgar Muzahura celebrated with the nearest to the pin goodies.

The tournament was sponsored by JobConnect, Serena Hotel, Coca Cola, Master Power Systems, Pinnacle Security, NTV and Case Hospital.
