UPDF clarifies on Namugongo shooting

The Ugand People's Defence Forces have clarified that the shooting around Namugongo last night was far from the shrines.
 
The UPDF spokesman, Brig. Richard Karemire says Corporal Yoram Tumwesigye, who was a t a camping site, a distance from the shrines, shot at his colleagues.
He reportedly injured four soldiers.
 
Karemire says Tumwesigye was immediately arrested and investigations about the incident have started. Brig. Karemire has also confirmed to New Vision that the injured are responding well to the treatment.
 
However, according to Karemire, no pilgrim was injured in the shooting. he says the situation is very calm.
