KAMPALA - Bukedde and Urban Televisions will be back on free to air decoder as management engages Signet, a sole company licensed by Uganda Company Communications Commission to distribute digital TV signals in Uganda.
 
Vision Group's Head of Television section, Mark Walungama said that they wrote to signet and are still waiting for a response from them concerning the black out.
 
"We will be back soon but we are still waiting for signet to give us a reply. We never told them to switch us off. It was their decision," said Walungama.
 
Walungama assured the viewers that they are still available on other signals like Zuku, Azam, Kwese, Go Tv, Star times and DSTV.
 
 
The two stations have been off air for  one week on the free to air decoder.
 
In June 2015, the Uganda Communications Commission started enforcing the International Telecommunications Union of transiting from analogue to digital broadcasts.
 
UCC switched off free to air analogue broadcasts in Kampala, leaving the analogue users and those without Pay TV in 'TV darkness'.

Ipsos study affirms Vision Group's platforms as the leading Ugandan entertainment and news brand in both urban and rural areas.
 
They reach a larger audience compared to all their competitors in television, radio, digital and cross-platform.
 
According to a study conducted by Synovate, a research firm in 2011, Bukedde TV is the most watched station in the central/ Buganda market.
 
The all-Luganda station went on-air in October 2009 with its community TV format.
