Uganda started the International Handball trophy tournament at Lugogo on Monday with a win against Somalia and a lose to Rwanda.

In the U-18 category, Uganda defeated Somalia 31-12 with Vicent Tibamwenda, Isaac Byamukama and Patrick Achia topping the score board with six goals each.

However, coach Ibrahim Kyaluzi believes the team needs to improve its attacking game to avoid the chances created.

Somali fans came in droves to support their side

"We played well, but if we are to win this tournament we want to improve our attacking game," Kyaluzi said.

Meanwhile, Uganda's U-20 side lost 30-29 to defending champions Rwanda in a tightly contested game.

Uganda came from 19-16 down to lead 28-26, but lost the lead three minutes to time to lose 30-29.

Coach Jimmy Orotin said, "We lacked concentration and endurance that why we lost the game but we are going to work on it and wait for our next games."

The games continue today with also a coaching training workshop.
