Mbarara City v Onduparaka

KCCA beat Proline 2-0 to continue their push for the Uganda Premier League title and pile more pressure on table leaders Vipers who dropped points against Kirinya Jinja SS.

Second half strikes from Muhammad Shaban and Derrick Nsibambi ensured KCCA atoned for the 3-1 loss they suffered against the same side earlier in the season.

It was a game of missed chances with both sides squandering several goal scoring opportunities before KCCA found the net.

Shaban took his tally to 13 goals this season to go level with Nelson Senkatuka of Bright Stars and Vipers' Dan Sserunkuma in the race for the top scorer's boot.

The defeat leaves Proline rooted in the relegation zone with two games left to end the season.

Moses Waiswa saved Vipers' blushes, cancelling Isma Kawawulo's tenth minute opener for Kirinya Jinja SS at Bugembe Stadium in Jinja.

The results leave Vipers on 59 points, five ahead of KCCA, but the Lugogo side has a game in hand. SC Villa who were not in action are third on 53 points.

Vipers who are in pole position to win the league cannot afford to drop more points with two games left to end the season. KCCA chances of defending their league title hinge on Vipers failing to win against either relegation threatened Express FC or UPDF.

At Namboole, URA and basement side Masavu played out a goalless draw. This was Sam Ssimbwa's third game in charge of URA and he is yet to pick up a win.
