Vipers, KCCA win to keep title chances alive

KCCA beat Express 2-1 to keep their title chances alive in the Azam Uganda Premier League on Tuesday in the game that was marred by violence.

The result took the Lugogo side second to 51 points, four below leaders Vipers. SC Villa who were not in action are third on 50 points.

The highly anticipated derby saw Express fans pelt the assistant referee and those who were in VIP section with rocks in the 43 minute, claiming that KCCA's second game was offside.

Police had to use tear gas to disperse the rowdy fans that had attacked KCCA players as they were approaching the team bus at the end of the match.

Express took the lead from a spot kick converted by Ayub Kisalita before Allan Okello equalised for KCCA. Jackson Nunda scored the winner.

Elsewhere, Vipers came from goal down to beat Proline 3-1 at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.
