INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY

SEMBABULE - President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday commissions the Sembabule district women Savings and Credit Co-operative Society (SACCOS).

The group was started by Edith Kutesa, the wife of foreign affairs minister Sam Kutesa.

Museveni commissioned the SACCOS in Sembabule at the venue of the national celebrations for the International Labour Day.

The President had a chat with the crafts team at the function.

This year's national celebrations are being held under the theme: 'Promoting public spirit in public sector'.

Tuesday's weather in Sembabule was not particularly ideal for a national event held in the open.

The morning downpour left the district grounds at the venue wet and soggy.

After his arrival, President Museveni held an umbrella above his head to shield himself from the rain during the singing of the athems.

Earlier, before the President's arrival, guests were treated to plenty of entertainment.
