Katureebe flags off induction training for judges

TRAINING | JUDGES 

The Chief Justice, Bart Katureebe, has flagged off induction training for the newly appointed judges.

They include Paul Gadenya, Olive Kazaarwe Mukwaya, Alex Ajiji, Tadeo Asiimwe, Joyce Kavuma, Emmanuel Baguma and Musa Sekaana. Others are Richard Wabwire, Jane Frances Abodo and Cornelia Sabiiti.

Katureebe urged the judges to utilise the opportunity to be in position to dispense justice.

He said newly appointed judges have not been inducted in the past because of financial constraints. 

According to the executive director of the Judicial Training Institute, Justice Henry Peter Adonyo, the induction course is designed to usher them the realm of dispensing justice.

“The induction involves the enhancement of basic knowledge, skills and attitudes among the newly appointed judicial officers,” he said.

Adonyo said the two-week course is also intended to familiarise the appointees with the new duties and ensure that they are update with the developments in legal practice.
