Amuria deputy speaker gets 16 months

While appearing before court, Emogu pleaded guilty and requested for a lenient sentence, saying he was sick and the sole bread winner for his family.

The Soroti Grade One Magistrate Court has sentenced Amuria district deputy speaker Francis Emogu to 16 months' imprisonment over illegal possession of Government stores and impersonation after he was found with a gun.

 

While appearing before court, Emogu pleaded guilty and requested for a lenient sentence, saying he was sick and the sole bread winner for his family.

However, the magistrate sent him to jail.
