Pastor Kayiwa calls for exemplary leadership

EASTER SUNDAY

KAMPALA - The pastor of Namirembe Christian Fellowship, Prof. Simeon Kayiwa has asked political and religious leaders to emulate the leadership qualities of Jesus by doing only those things that give their people hope and courage.

Preaching during the Easter Service at the church, Kayiwa argued that the mystery of the resurrection of Jesus demonstrated his Lordship over all things, death inclusive, thus asserting his supreme leadership.

"Had Jesus not resurrected, his followers would have lost hope and trust in him. Through his resurrection, Jesus restored the hope and faith of his followers. Contemporary leaders, be they religious or secular, should shun vices such as corruption, tribalism, nepotism and other immoral practices, which make their subjects or followers lose faith, hope and confidence in them," Kayiwa said.

Despite the heavy rains, the Born-again Christians turned up in huge numbers to celebrate Easter at the church.
