(Blazers win by 140 runs)

There is room at the top for the emerging Jazz Safari National Men's League division three debutants Soroti Blazers.

A direct product of the illustrious Soroti Cricket Academy, they are surely cut out for the big stage.

The Cricket Academy's journey has been filled with a lot of resilience with limited resources a standout hiccup.

From successes with Olila High School in the women's domestic contests and the Schools Cricket Week, Soroti Blazers is the next big thing on the ever growing list of Felix Musana's ambitions.

Felix Musana, the proprietor of the Soroti Cricket Academy is driven by the desire to create a lasting impression on the face of Ugandan cricket.

For the case of  Soroti Blazers, the start was quite relished in commanding fashion on Saturday with a 140 runs win over Jinja Association of Cricket Clubs (JACC).

The top management has rolled up their sleeves as Coach Ivan Kakande and the man himself Musana actively play for the team; they are after all not bad. Kakande (4 wickets and 36 runs) was man of the match as they made a grand statement in the third tier.

Hillary Kuteesa had an impeccable innings scoring a near century of 85 from 71 balls. With such talents on the side, it only spells a likelihood of nothing but success.

For now, they can generally be judged by their ability to participate in competitive cricket on a national level.
