Goalkeeper Jamil Maliyamungu was the hero of the day as KCCA progressed to the quarter-finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup

Maliyamungu saved two penalties after a 2-2 in normal time and scored the decider as KCCA eliminated Soana 4-3 on Wednesday at Kavumba Recreation ground.

Patrick Kaddu and Paul Mucureezi each had a goal for KCCA, while Steven Ategeka scored a double for Soana.

At Bombo, Proline ejected UPDF 4-2 in spot kicks after goalless draw, while Kampala Junior Team (KJT) beat BUL 2-1 at Villa Park. Allan Serunga notched a brace for the regional side.

Elsewhere, Mbido Kalaga scored twice as Synergy beat Busula 2-1 . Ezra Kaye scored a consolation for Busula.

The Stanbic Uganda Cup will resume tomorrow with the last games of the round of 16.

This year's final will be held in June in Kumi district. Winners of the Uganda Cup represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.
