Kawalya becomes the fourth coach to take charge of Mbarara City.

Sam Kawalya has officially been named the new Mbarara City head coach. The former Express caretaker signed one year contract. He replaced Ibrahim Kirya who was sacked last week.

Kawalya becomes the fourth coach to take charge of Mbarara City since their promotion in the topflight division this season.

The other coaches are Richard Makumbi, Bainomugisha Vialli and Kirya.

Kirya's exist follows the team's struggles in the league. In the four league games he was in charge of Mbarara, Kirya only picked two draws and loses. His only two wins during his stay at Mbarara City came in the Uganda Cup.

Kawalya who was on the touchline when Maroons beat Mbarara City 2-1 last week at Kakyeka stadium needs to revive the team's fortunes.

Mbarara City are currently 12th in the league with 21 points. They have won four games, drawn nine and lost seven.
