Established in 1988, the MRC/ UVRI and LSHTM Uganda Research Unit is an internati onally recognized Center of excellence for research on HIV infecti on and related diseases, contributi ng knowledge on the evolving epidemic, the evaluati on of innovati ve health care opti ons, treatment and preventi on, and the development of health policy and practi ce in Africa and worldwide.
