Trubish believes if the plan is to own an arena in the next few years, owning a pool tables is a small building block towards that goal.

The Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) has acquired two pool tables as they move towards acquiring assets for the body, chairman Bob Trubish announced during the Annual General Meeting.

"Yes one of the changes from last year and from the past is that we have started the process of PAU owning pool tables. We did secure two  tables fully and it is something that we are going to continue building on," he explained.

Trubish believes if the plan is to own an arena in the next few years, owning a pool tables is a small building block towards that goal.

Other pertinent issues were discussed during the AGM, one of which was the issue of the national team.

The national team has future engagements such as the world championships set for later this year in Australia and the Africa Pool Championships 2019.

Last year, Uganda failed to defend their two team titles in Zimbabwe, so a few delegates berated Trubish and his executive for money wasted.

"It does not surprise that some members were disappointed. It is a matter of perspective because we did have to make a decision in terms of travelling to Zimbabwe. One option was that Uganda would not have an opportunity to travel the other was to stay. We thought it would be an embarrassment if we failed to travel and defend our title so we fundraised and travelled," Trubish said.

Suggestions were also made that the national team would have to be summoned a little earlier than usual so that they are prepared in time.
