DRAMA | BUGIRI

There was drama in Bugiri when two co-wives exchanged blows over sh450,000 sent by their husband who lives in South africa.

Their husband, Ayoub Kiteza, reportedly sent the money through Western Union and requested his young wife Regina Kagoya to pick it and share with the first wife, Hadija Namusobya.

However, after withdrawing the money, Kagoya reportedly decided against sharing it with Namusobya.

According to the LC1 secretary for defence in Naluwerere zone, Badru Kirya, Namusobya was furious and attacked her co-wife, who was selling fish.

Kirya said Namusobya descended on Kagoya with a big stick and started to hit her, accusing the co-wife of bewitching their husband. She said Kiteza had failed to take care of her and their five children because of Kagoya.

Kagoya responded by mocking Namusobya, telling her she wanted to teach her a lesson by taking away all the money so she has a miserable Christmas.

The two co-wives were later separated by locals.

Kagoya then rushed to Bugiri Central Police Station with a blood-stained blouse and skirt, accusing Namusobya of harming her.

The district Police commander of Bugiri, Godfrey Musimami, said they are  investigating the matter.
