Police has revealed that the investigations into the case where city socialite Brian Kirumira alias Bryan White is accused of shooting his neighbour are complete and he is to be presented in court today.

While addressing the media yesterday in Kampala, the Kampala metropolitan Police boss Frank Mwesigwa said investigations had delayed due to lack of the victim's statement.

"We have now secured a statement from the victim whose health is steadily improving and the case is ready for the suspect to be tried in courts of law," he said.

Mwesigwa warned that no one is above the law adding that the suspect would be cautioned on the use of a weapon.

Bryan White was last week arrested over allegedly shooting and injuring a neighbor, Victor Bitwire, in the night in the leafy suburb of Buziga.

He was later detained at Kabalagala Police Station where he was charged with attempted murder.

Bitwire who was shot in the shoulder was taken to hospital for medical attention Wednesday morning.

The acting Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Oweyesigyire, confirmed the incident. "The incident happened in Buziga at the premises of Bryan White Kirumira," Oweyesigyire said.

Section 239 of the Criminal Code makes attempted murder punishable by a maximum of life imprisonment once proved guilty. If a gun is used, the minimum sentence is four, five or seven years, dependent on prior convictions and relation to organized crime.

Bryan White stormed the city's party scene some months back and has since then been a constant at most parties in Kampala where he gives a few revelers some money.

Last month, the tycoon was summoned to Police to explain circumstances under which pictures of him on an early morning jog guarded by a string of body guards armed with sub machines guns which are a preserve of elite forces leaked.
