Patricia Munguryek carries positive thoughts towards the inaugural Kampala Premier Tennis League.

The 21-year-old is one of the female beneficiaries of the set up at the Lugogo Tennis Club which organizes the league.

The League set up emphasizes at least each team to have two female players as a means of uplifting women in the rather male dominated game.

"It is relieving that the females are now thought of highly in the game. I hope to continue working hard and achieve my goals and am happy that the league has given us that platform," she says.

Munguryek is also an active cricketer who turns out for Tornado Bee a side that was relegated to the second tier this season.

However, she has lived off the racket game in terms of education scholarships and which explains her sentiments towards Tennis. Her Tennis credentials earned her a scholarship at the Kampala International University where she is pursuing a Diploma in human resource.

"Tennis has been rewarding to me ever since I started out and I have no regrets of focusing on it," she adds.

Currently, the usually grinning athlete is one of the promising gems at the club. She features along with Sandra Kiisa as the two females at Eco Bank in the exciting league.

The KPTL resumes Saturday with Eco Bank entertaining Team Kinetic at Lugogo Tennis Club.
